so i found myself wandering the u.s. naval academy over in annapolis, maryland, this past weekend.  was there for my buddy wally’s wedding.  wedding wasn’t in the naval academy, nor is he a jarhead or anything like that.  wedding was in a pretty spot a few miles outside of annapolis. anyhow, i had no idea

had an assignment recently for the 40th anniversary issue of the smithsonian magazine.  it was on jellyfish.  thoroughly fascinating article about how, because of global warming and overfishing, jellyfish are taking over the oceans.  see article here. interesting shoot.  my assignment was to shoot a mixture of marine biologist portraits and some pics of jellyfish.
